Collect

Collect with a QR code

Create the payment and turn payment.checkout.url into a QR code with the tool your application already uses. Do not rebuild the URL or add keys or card data.

The customer scans the QR and pays in Timbro Checkout. Your server confirms the result by retrieval or webhook.

Use one QR code per payment. Anyone with the link can open Checkout and see the receipt, so share it only with the right people.

Send expiresAfterSeconds when you create the payment to set how many seconds Checkout stays open. It accepts 300 (5 minutes) to 86400 (24 hours). A point of sale that shows the QR code at the counter usually needs a short window: send expiresAfterSeconds: 600 for 10 minutes.

When you omit it, the window is 1800 seconds (30 minutes) if you send a returnUrl and 3600 seconds (1 hour) if you do not. A QR code shown at the counter normally has no returnUrl.

The payment reports its deadline in expiresAt, and checkout.expiresAt repeats the same moment. Use them to decide when to offer a new QR code instead of calculating the window in your own system. When 15 minutes or less remain, Checkout shows the customer the remaining time.

If the QR code opens the first payment for a Subscription, that payment expires after 24 hours, not after the ordinary 30- or 60-minute window. The Subscription becomes terminal when setup expires; create another with a new subscriptionReference if the customer wants to start again. A renewal Payment can have expiresAt and checkout.expiresAt set to null while its link remains open. Timbro sets a 7-day deadline when the email provider accepts the pending payment notice. Do not show a countdown while the deadline is null; resending the notice does not extend a deadline that is already set.

Retrieve the payment and show its same URL again. If it has expired or been canceled, repeating the reference does not reopen it. Start another payment with a new reference only after resolving the previous outcome.

Using NFC to open Checkout depends on device and merchant account qualification. There is no general NFC terminal flow ready to integrate. Check availability before offering it.
